Like all ALLEVYN dressings, ALLEVYN Gentle has at its heart a unique three-layer technology that actively manages exudate3. An absorbent hydrocellular pad is held between a soft gel adhesive wound contact layer and a highly permeable waterproof outer film5. This dynamic system ensures that the wound is kept at optimum moisture levels to enable moist wound healing5,6.
1. Breathable Top Film
The outer polyurethane top film switches to become more breathable in the presence of exudate5.
It also helps to prevent strikethrough and provides an effective barrier to bacteria8 and minimises the risk of cross contamination.
2. Highly Absorbent Foam Core
The hydrocellular foam core is highly absorbent3, providing absorption capacity for up to 7 days1.
3. Non-Adherent Wound Contact Layer
The wound contact layer will not stick to the wound11and the soft gel adhesive provides gentle adhesion to aid application whilst being suitable for fragile skin1.
ALLEVYN Gentle is easy to apply and can be lifted and repositioned during application thanks to its gentle adhesive4. The dressing is designed to minimise pain and trauma to the wound2 with gentle soft-gel adhesive technology meaning it is suitable for delicate and fragile skin1.
